This is the best plant shop within 25 miles of Baltimore in any direction. It specializes in Orchids, of which is has a dizzying variety, but has almost as many Bromeliads, a lot of Gesneriads, and a rotating selection of other houseplants. Today, there were a bunch of very reasonably priced, very large, and very happy Hoyas there, along with a gorgeous Columnea and a variety of gorgeous cane and tiny woody-stemmed Begonias. I've gotten some of my favorite plants here, including a huge 'Cressie' Fern and a still more huge Calathea orbifolia (pictured). One of my favorite things about this place is chatting with the proprietor. He has a sort of antique bookseller energy, which leads to good conversations, learning about other plants he has growing in the wings if you get to talking, and some posted signs that are endearingly grouchy about leaving plants still in progress alone and similar. He has a bunch of stories, and a bunch of Maidenhair Ferns he can't grow in pots blowing raspberries at him by growing like gangbusters from cracks in the stacked stone wall. He seems to be simultaneously really annoyed at the plants, very proud of them, eager to sell them, and reluctant to part

My partner picked up these two for me a couple weeks ago. Plants are so healthy and so wonderful looking and blooming so beautiful. Can't wait to stop up in the shop myself in a few weeks. Coming in from Delaware

Picked up 2 amazing Begonias today from the gem of a location. The owner was very helpful and he had quite a few plants I've never even heard of. I'm going back next weekend for something exciting that I should have picked up today and wish I did. Anyways great place and can't wait to see you next weekend! Edit: went back and picked up some more amazing plants!

Tom, the owner, is lovely. He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient in explaining care, and has 50 years of experience to offer. Don't bother with any of the negative reviews below. The greenhouse has an impressive collection of paphs and phrags along with many cattleya, dendrobium, masdevilla, Vanda, and oncidium alomg eith lots of other rare plants. Tom introduced me to a new orchid, a neofinetia, when I told him I was looking for something compact with fragrance. His prices are very reasonable. I purchased two additional paphs that I had been searching for - a venustum hybrid and a sanderanium hybrid. He knew other orchid dealers I had purchased from and he linked me up with the Maryland Orchid Society. This business is a gem that I drove 90 minutes to get to - and it was absolutely worth it.
